The official word from the Pyrex company is no, it is not safe to use Pyrex bowls in Instant Pot. If the Pyrex or glass bowl has fine crack or scratch, there is a small chance the bowl will crack or shatter in Instant Pot. Having said that, many users have been using Pyrex bowls in Instant Pot or other pressure cookers.
What material is the safest in the Instant Pot?
High quality stainless steel is the safest material to use in Instant Pot. A tip is to look for stainless steel bowls that have multiple layers. The biggest thing you need to know when baking a cake in an Instant Pot is that you’ll need a spring form pan as well as some sort of trivet and heat-resistant tongs to help lift out said pan. Don’t forget to add water to the Instant Pot when making cake, either. That steam is the secret ingredient.

The lid fits on top of the Instant Pot, turning it into a mini convection oven that adds roasting, baking, broiling, reheating, and dehydrating functions to the multi-cookers already long list of programs. But while it saves you from buying yet another space-hogging appliance, its not exactly compact: Its 11 inches wide and 7 inches tall. And its not compatible with all Instant Pot models, so be sure to check here before you buy.
The lid comes with an air-fryer basket that you slip into the Instant Pots stainless steel inner pot. The downside is that the 3.5-quart basket is quite small. It may not make sense for large families, but its just right for couples or people cooking for one, or if youre willing to do multiple batches.
Though you need the basket to crisp up fries, you can use the air-fryer lid with just the Instant Pots stainless steel pot to brown and bake. I pressure-cooked a whole chicken in the stainless steel pot and swapped out the lid for the air-fryer lid to crisp up the skin. The result was a tender, juicy chicken with golden-brown skin.

Pros: Made by Instant Pot, this lid comes in multiple sizes and features a steam vent to reduce condensation.
Cons: Even though it’s tempered glass, you still want to be wary of thermal shock.
This lid lets you braise, slow cook, reheat, and more while visually monitoring what’s in the pot. There are multiple sizes available to suit different Instant Pots, including the mini three-quart, five-quart, six-quart, and eight-quart models. Each lid is made with tempered glass and stainless steel and features a steam vent to minimize condensation, and the handle is riveted securely into place. It’s heat resistant up to 425 degrees Fahrenheit and can go into the dishwasher for hassle-free cleaning.

Is Pyrex Safe In An Instant Pot
Numerous bloggers swear by something called the “pot-in-pot” cooking method, whereby you place ingredients into some sort of secondary dish rather than directly into the Instant Pot itself. This allows you to keep the Instant Pot clean, so you don’t have to wash it out between steps and slow down the overall cooking process, and can also help you cook multiple things at once.
Pyrex, which is owned by the same parent company as Instant Pot, is a suggestion that pops up again and again. While anything that’s oven-safe should be okay to use in the Instant Pot, we personally have some reservations about cooking in glass inside your Instant Pot. If it shatters, which has been known to happen in the past, then you’re stuck with quite a mess and will have to ditch that meal you just prepared out of fear of consuming said glass. So while yes, you totally can use Pyrex in the Instant Pot, we’d suggest using a metal baking dish or round cake pan instead. This will allow you to keep ingredients separate, and the shatter risk drops down to zero.

The long-handled silicone trivet is the unsung Instant Pot hero. If youve never heard of one, a trivet is an object that you place between a serving dish and a table to avoid damaging the table with heat.
When referring to the Instant Pot, its anifty little accessory that keeps things off the bottom of your device, whetherthats food, racks, or baskets.
Trivets are especially important when cookingfoods like eggs and veggies. These foods require you to add water to theInstant Pot, but you shouldnt submerge them in the liquid during cooking. Thetrivet lifts food off the bottom of the pot.
