Blend your egg mixture. Whisking eggs and cheese by hand is tempting but blending in a blender or food processor creates a very fluffy egg bite thats spongy and moist.

Do not add too many fillings. Too many add-ins will make the egg bites fall apart.

Cover with a silicone lid or foil. Plastic lids will melt. Covering prevents the condensation drips from falling into the eggs.

Allow natural release time. 5-10 minutes of natural release time will help the eggs complete cooking.

Covering Egg Bites Before Cooking

For cute and un-soggy egg bites, cover the mold with a parchment round or aluminum foil before cooking so condensation on the lid doesn’t drip down on the egg mixture. If your egg molds came with a plastic lid, they are for storage and cant be used for cooking. If the egg mold lid is silicone, you should be able to use it when cooking, but check the manufacturer’s instructions first.

This recipe lists how to make velvety soft , spongy and fluffy egg bites in air fryer and Instant pot. I am also listing several substations to make this wholesome and budget friendly egg recipe.

    Roasted Red Pepper Egg Bites

While the Starbucks version of these bites uses egg whites, I continually had problems with just egg whites every single time I made the egg white and roasted red pepper bites. There just isnt enough fat in plain egg whites to prevent everything from sticking nor to make that perfectly smooth mouthfeel.

I tried adding olive oil, a mixture of whole eggs and egg whites, and even coconut oil. Nothing worked as well as whole eggs.

Honestly, I doubt youll notice the difference. The flavor all comes from the roasted red pepper, green onion, and touch of hot sauce for a teeny bit of spice .

You can find roasted red peppers jarred in the condiment section of your grocery store.

The silicone mold is key to getting the authentic look of the Starbucks egg bites, but you could cook the egg mixture in another small ramekin or glass jar if you need to.

Keep in mind that Starbucks adds quite a bit of cheese, and some starch, to their egg bites to give them a unique texture. I found them to taste more cheese-like than egg-like when I tried the real ones myself , so Ive cut back on that in this recipe to lighten them up.

I also left out the starch because I didnt want to order that from a specialty store. Breakfast shouldnt be that complicated, right? However, if you want to play with adding starch to your egg bites for a texture exactly like Starbucks, go for it!

    Stir in cooked, chopped bacon.

Hint: If youve made a batch of bacon in your oven and frozen it for later youre a rockstar! Just grab the slices and chopped em!

Then, pour about a cup of water into your Instant Pot.

Pour the egg mixture into a silicone egg molds and add the top.
