If you’re an Instant Pot recipe newbie, these tips will come in handy:

Dont overfill your Instant Pot. Fill your pressure cooker only about 2/3 of the way. If you overfill it, the recipe wont cook properly.

Follow Instant Pot recipes closely. For best results, dont fudge on the recipe! Dont change up the cooking times, ingredient order, or chopping sizes.

Save your fresh herbs for last. Wait until your pressure cooking is done before adding any fresh herbs. The combination of heat and moisture causes the herbs to lose flavor.

    Choosing the right Instant Pot for you can be confusing. But it really doesn’t have to be!

    I have the Instant Pot Duo 7-in-1 in the 8 quart size. Honestly, it’s way fancier than I need, but the size is perfect for making big batches of food.

    I mainly use the sauté function and the pressure cook function. Really pay attention to all the features and think about whether you really need them.

    If you’re cooking for a family or making big batches of soups, stews, beans, etc, I recommend getting the 8 quart size. It does take a bit more time to build and release pressure, but it’s worth it for the amount of food you can make at once.

    Once you have your Instant Pot, I recommend extra sealing rings, a glass lid, and some steamer baskets.

    Is the Instant Pot worth buying for a vegetarian? Absolutely! I love making soups, stews, curries, big batches of beans, and more.
