Easy Steps To Making Delicious Pressure Cooked Beef Tips In The Instant Pot
Step 1. Season sirloin beef tips with garlic salt, pepper and dust or coat with flour .
Step 2. Set the IP to saute feature and let it get hot. Add oil. Place in the sirloin beef tips and saute until browned. This can be done in two batches to not overcrowd the pot. Remove to plate.
Step 3. Add in the onion and saute about 1 minute.
Step 4. Then add in the wine and beef broth . Return the Beef Tips back into the Instant Pot. Give a stir. Next add the cream of mushroom on top.
Step 5. Close the lid and make sure the pressure valve is closed. Use the Manual setting on High Pressure for 25 minutes. It will take about 10 or so minutes to come up to pressure and start cooking.
I know this looks like a great big mess now, but just wait for the deliciousness!
Step 6. Once done let it release naturally. This took about 20 minutes. This allows it to sit and get so nice and tender.
Note: If the gravy isn’t as thick as you like take about ¼ cup of water and add in 2 tablespoons of cornstarch and mix up really good. Set the pot to saute and pour in cornstarch slurry and stir. Let it heat for a few minutes and you are all set!

Lets start with a few basic tips:
- Make sure to Bookmark our InstaPot recipes page. We add new ones each week!
For reference, this is the pressure cooker I have and use for all recipe creations.
- This recipe was created quite by accident actually. I wasnt planning on creating a new pressure cooker beef recipe that day but once it was done I HAD to share it.
It was one of those I need to cook this meat and the mushrooms only have one day left, so what can I do with these nights. I am sure youve been there before.
Lets start with the steak I used.
As Ive stated in the past we bought a cow from a local organic farmer and have a large freezer packed with all kinds of cuts.
We dont cook beef very often, with the exception of ground beef which I find super easy to use. If I use the other cuts its because theyre about to spoil or my husband has a craving for it.
Sirloin steak was on the menu, and I couldnt wait another day to use them up before they went bad. I have to be honest, if Im going to make a new Instant Pot beef recipe I almost always dice it into bite size pieces before cooking it.
Healthy Instant Beef And Broccoli A Recipe For Tonight
From my collection of Beef and Broccoli Recipes, I would describe this Instant Pot Beef and Broccoli as my help i need dinner now together. It takes 15 minutes to prep, 12 minutes to pressure cook, and if you have the rice ready to go, youll have dinner on your table in less than 40 minutes.
A key factor in the speed of this easy Instant Pot beef and broccoli is the frozen, steamed broccoli florets in the bag which are heated separately, then tossed together in the Instant Pot at the end.
You can use fresh broccoli instead of freezing it, but it should always be cooked separately on the stovetop or in the microwave, rather than under pressure with the beef in the Instant Pot. The pressure is too intense for the broccoli and will leave you with a soggy green mess, instead of the tender, shiny, crispy florets youre looking for.
We served this Instant Pot beef and broccoli with rice, and it would also be tasty with quinoa or cauliflower rice. For gluten-free Instant Pot beef and broccoli, be sure to use gluten-free soy sauce and oyster sauce.

What Ingredients Do I Need To Make Beef Tips And Rice In The Instant Pot
I try to keep things super simple. I never want to use more than 5 ingredients if possible. This is one of those recipes that really doesnt take long to make and doesnt take a lot of ingredients either.
Other than the actual beef tips and rice, you only need another handful of ingredients. Here is what you need:
- onion
- cream of mushroom soup
- seasoning sauce
I like to use Dales seasoning sauce as one of those ingredients, but it might not be available in your area. If you dont have that available, you can always substitute it for Worcestershire sauce and black pepper.
Only a handful of ingredients for this Instant Pot Beef Tips and Rice recipe
Serve Instant Pot Roast Beef
After 8 10 minutes rest, your Instant Pot Roast Beef is ready to be sliced
*Pro Tip: Cut pressure cooker roast beef against the grain for best result.
For Round of Eye Roast: you will want to slice it as thin as you can .
For Top Sirloin Roast: you can slice it into steak size.

Does Instant Pot Make Meat Tender
- Meats in a pressure cooker become quite tender no matter what cut it is. How tender depends on several factors:
Some cuts are tender to begin with and have little or no chewy connective tissues. A pressure cooker can essentially melt the connective tissues much more quickly than a slow cooker or oven/stovetop can.
How Do You Cook Beef Tips So They Are Tender
3. Set the Instant Pot on manual and set the timer for 25 minutes.
4. Once you hear the beep and the time is finished, allow your beef tips to naturally release for about 10 minutes and then carefully manual release the remaining pressure.
If you have the time, let the beef tips and rice naturally release for a full 20 minutes before serving.
Then enjoy the most tender beef tips and rice recipe, ever.
Serve these fall-apart Instant Pot Beef Tips over Rice
One of my other favorite things about this recipe is the GRAVY! I love how perfectly the gravy turns out in this recipe.
However, if you prefer a thicker gravy, add a little cornstarch to water and mix it into the Instant Pot.
Give it a couple of minutes and it will thicken up nicely. Serve over a bowl of rice and ENJOY!

How To Make Instant Pot Beef Tips:
Step 1: Pepper your beef tips and brown them in the instant pot with the oil. Add onion and garlic and cook a few minutes more. Turn off the sauté feature on instant pot.
Step 2: Add Worcestershire sauce and onion soup to instant pot. Then whisk together beef broth and gravy packets and pour the mixture into the instant pot.
Step 3: Spread mushrooms on top of the beef tips. Then spread cream of mushroom soup in as even of a layer as you can on top of the mushrooms.
Step 4: Seal the instant pot and cook on high pressure for 25 minutes. Let the pressure naturally release for 20 minutes.
Step 5: Stir the beef tips and the gravy. If you are happy with the thickness, you can serve it immediately. If you prefer a thicker gravy like me, use the cornstarch to make a slurry.
How to make a slurry: Place cornstarch in a small bowl. Add 2 tablespoons of broth/gravy from the instant pot into the cornstarch and stir. Continue adding gravy 1 tablespoon at a time until the slurry is smooth and a good consistency. Then stir the slurry into the instant pot, and stir really well. Let beef tips rest for 5 minutes and the gravy will thicken!
Serve as desired over mashed potatoes or egg noodles! Dont forget the buttered rolls to soak up the extra gravy!

What Kind Of Beef Is Used For Beef Tips
I admit, the term beef tips is kind of nebulous when you think about it, isnt it? What constitutes the tip of some beef anyway? Well, I was curious myself so I did a little digging. It turns out that beef tips are not made from one specific cut of meat but rather can come from a variety of cuts. Sirloin, chuck roast, or another tougher, fattier section of meat is used. The butcher will likely have already cubed these up at your grocery store and labeled them as stew meat or beef tips. Any variety will work in this recipe as youll cook it long enough to tenderize the meat.
Saute Onion And Garlic
*Note: Your Instant Pots inner pot should look quite brown. Dont worry! Your pot didnt burn, those caramelized brown bits add yummy flavors to your roast beef.
Add in one more tbsp olive oil. Add in sliced onions, then saute for 3 minutes.
Add in 2 bay leaves, ¼ tsp dried rosemary, and minced garlic in Instant Pot. Saute for another 30 seconds until fragrant.

Both my husband and I have busy schedules and both of our girls play sports. At least once a week we are either too tired to cook, or we forgot to plan what we were having that night.
These Paleo Instant Pot Beef Sirloin Tips have been our favorite for some time now. The savory sauce is incredible, and the steak tips tender.
I posted the original recipe for these Slow Cooker Beef Sirloin Tips last year. This recipe is an upgrade with Instant Pot instructions.

How To Make Instant Pot Beef Tips And Gravy:
Season beef with salt, pepper, and garlic powder on all sides.
Press the SAUTE button the Instant Pot and let it heat up. Once its hot, add olive oil to pot.
Add half of the beef tips to the hot pot and saute for about 1 minute . Flip over and saute for one more minute. Remove beef tips from Instant Pot.
Repeat with other half of beef tips, adding more olive oil if needed.
Dump all beef tips back into Instant Pot and place onions and mushrooms on top. Stir and scrape the bottom of the pot, loosening up all the browned bits so that you dont get the BURN message on your pot .
In a mixing bowl, mix together beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, red wine vinegar and Italian seasoning. Pour on top of beef tips, onion, and mushrooms.
Place the lid on top of the Instant Pot and move the valve to SEALING. Press the MANUAL button and set timer for 30 minutes.
When the timer is done, let the pressure do a NATURAL RELEASE .
Remove the lid and press the SAUTE button.
In a separate small bowl, mix cornstarch together with water in a separate bowl. Pour cornstarch mixture into Instant Pot and mix well. Cook on SAUTE for a few minutes or until the liquid starts to thicken and turns into a gravy.
Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or hot noodles.
