Instant Pot Cooking Time Guides
Also, those time sheets/magnets/charts with cooktimes- ehh. I dont think they are a good resource since every chart Ive seen online doesnt seem accurate to me. Unless it guide comes from a blogger or recipe creator you absolutely trust, I wouldnt spend money on it.
Personally, I would stick with tried and true recipe and methods with researched recipes
Just my two cents!
So what do you think? Do you have some of these accessories? What would you add to the list?
How To Clean The Cooking Base
Even though the cooking base cannot be placed inside the dishwasher, its still easy to clean. Start by getting a piece of cloth and run that under some water. Wring that piece of cloth dry until it feels damp instead of wet.
You can now use the damp cloth to wipe the exterior of the cooking base clean. Use the same cloth to work on the interior of the cooking base too.
Go ahead and use the cloth to gently clear out the edges of the cooking bases brim. If youre having a tough time dislodging the dirt in some hard-to-reach spots, use a brush with soft bristles instead.

Remove And Clean The Silicone Sealing Ring From The Lid
The silicone sealing ring can pick up strong odors. To get rid of any unwanted smells, wash separately in the dishwasher using a high-temperature cycle. The combination of high heat and washing detergent should remove any odors.
If a lingering sweet or savory smell remains on the sealing ring after the wash cycle, soak overnight in vinegar, then hand wash thoroughly.
It is a wise idea to have two sealing rings. Use one for savory dishes and the other for sweet dishes. It is recommended that you replace the sealing ring every six to twelve months, depending on how often you use the Instant Pot.

Putting The Instant Pot Lid In The Dishwasher
Cleaning the lid of your Instant Pot is also a bit more complicated. The lid itself is safe to place inside the top rack of the dishwasher, but one part of it is not. To be more specific, the anti-block shield located underneath the lid must be washed separately.
Also, your Instant Pot has a condensation collector that is not dishwasher safe. Its easy to miss the condensation collector so make a point of removing it after every use of your Instant Pot.
Instant Pot Glass Lid
Some people like to get a lid for their pots for popcorn, slow cooking, or yogurt. However, I find I have lids for my pots and pans that work just fine on top of the Instant Pot. I dont find it necessary, though many people like it, so Ive included it in my list.
- Pros: Can be used for recipes that do not require pressure cooking, you can see inside the pot at a glance.
- Cons: Its a glass pot lid that is branded Instant Pot, so it costs $15
- Uses:Instant Pot Yogurt , popcorn, slow cooking

The inner bowl and steam rack are made of stainless steel, so these can be washed by hand in warm, soapy water or placed in the dishwasher on either rack for tougher-to-tackle food stains or remains. Over time, you might notice water stains or discoloration on the bottom of the inner pot, which can be easily removed with vinegar. To renew the finish, pour 1 cup white vinegar into the stainless-steel bowl and let it sit for 5 minutes before pouring it out and rinsing with water. Stainless Steel Pot And Stand
The stainless steel pot is where you perform all the cooking. The Stand is used for placing the pot. They both are constantly exposed to water and other cooking materials in case of overflow. So if you are looking forward to cleaning them, you can simply remove them from the pot and place them in the dishwasher. They can be cleaned directly using the detergent solution for tablets. If you are looking for a Spotless utensil without any watermark, use a suitable rinsing aid for extra cleaning.
Along with the pot, the Stand is also constantly exposed to steam, and hence they are often in a dull state. So they can be cleaned using a non-abrasive cleaner to make them appear shiny and spotless.

Insulated Glasses Tumblers And Thermal Containers
Plastic and metal insulated cups, tumblers and containers are great for keeping hot things hot and cold things cold. Most are constructed with two layers of material with an airspace between the two. Its that airspace that provides the insulation.
While some containers are labeled as dishwasher safe, many are not. It is best to hand wash both plastic and metal insulated containers. If you decide to place one in the dishwasher, opt for the top rack and skip the high heat of the drying cycle that can cause the seal to break and water to enter the airspace.
