How to deep clean your Instant Pot Putting the Instant Pot lid in the dishwasher?

Also, those time sheets/magnets/charts with cooktimes- ehh. I dont think they are a good resource since every chart Ive seen online doesnt seem accurate to me. Unless it guide comes from a blogger or recipe creator you absolutely trust, I wouldnt spend money on it.

Personally, I would stick with tried and true recipe and methods with researched recipes

Just my two cents!

So what do you think? Do you have some of these accessories? What would you add to the list?

How To Clean The Cooking Base

Even though the cooking base cannot be placed inside the dishwasher, its still easy to clean. Start by getting a piece of cloth and run that under some water. Wring that piece of cloth dry until it feels damp instead of wet.

You can now use the damp cloth to wipe the exterior of the cooking base clean. Use the same cloth to work on the interior of the cooking base too.

Go ahead and use the cloth to gently clear out the edges of the cooking bases brim. If youre having a tough time dislodging the dirt in some hard-to-reach spots, use a brush with soft bristles instead.

Remove And Clean The Silicone Sealing Ring From The Lid

The silicone sealing ring can pick up strong odors. To get rid of any unwanted smells, wash separately in the dishwasher using a high-temperature cycle. The combination of high heat and washing detergent should remove any odors.

If a lingering sweet or savory smell remains on the sealing ring after the wash cycle, soak overnight in vinegar, then hand wash thoroughly.

It is a wise idea to have two sealing rings. Use one for savory dishes and the other for sweet dishes. It is recommended that you replace the sealing ring every six to twelve months, depending on how often you use the Instant Pot.

Putting The Instant Pot Lid In The Dishwasher

Cleaning the lid of your Instant Pot is also a bit more complicated. The lid itself is safe to place inside the top rack of the dishwasher, but one part of it is not. To be more specific, the anti-block shield located underneath the lid must be washed separately.

Also, your Instant Pot has a condensation collector that is not dishwasher safe. Its easy to miss the condensation collector so make a point of removing it after every use of your Instant Pot.

If you are looking for a Spotless utensil without any watermark, use a suitable rinsing aid for extra cleaning.

While some containers are labeled as dishwasher safe, many are not. It is best to hand wash both plastic and metal insulated containers. If you decide to place one in the dishwasher, opt for the top rack and skip the high heat of the drying cycle that can cause the seal to break and water to enter the airspace.
