Instant Pot Lux Review
The Instant Pot LUX only replaces 6 appliances in your kitchen: a pressure cooker, slow cooker, rice cooker, a sauté pot, a steamer, and warmer. As you probably noticed, it doesnt have the yogurt making function, as the DUO has.
So, if you don’t see yourself making yogurt, then the LUX 60 v3 is going to be just fine for your needs at home. It’s got the same power as the DUO 60, it’s the same size , and uses the same type of technology.
But there are a few other differences I want to mention. First, the LUX only has High-intensity settings , and you can only set the warmer to up to 10 hours. Second, the lid is not supported by the pot, so youll have to place it on the counter when you want to check on the food.
Otherwise, the front panel looks similar, and the same type of materials were used for the outer and inner pots. The 3 ply bottom is just as effective in evenly distributing heat, and the flavor and nutrients are trapped in a sealed environment.
Finally, while it doesnt have a yogurt function, the LUX 60 has a cake making program and an egg cooking program, which are not available on the DUO.

Ease Of Use And Performance
Both devices are very user-friendly and they both perform well. Small differences, like the handle design and steam release valve, make the Duo slightly easier to use.
In spite of the different cooking programs, we have yet to find anything we can cook in the Duo that we cant cook in the Lux . Once you know what youre doing, you can create virtually any Instant Pot recipe in either the Lux or the Duo as long as you have a large enough model for that specific recipe.
A Few More Comparisons Between The Instant Pot Models
All Instant Pots come with a minimum of 10 safety features. The Ultra and Duo Nova have an added safety feature related to the automatic sealing and steam release.
With the exception of the Lux 8 quart model, these Instant Pots have 2 pressure levels . The Lux model only has high-pressure cooking.
All models have their power cord permanently attached. Many of the smaller quart models have a detachable cord.
Most of the 8 Quart models have a 1200 watt heating element with a 120V 60Hz power supply. The new 8 Quart Duo Evo Plus has a 1400 watt heating element. These specifications are based on the models available for sale in the United States. If you are purchasing outside of the country, double-check the specifications locally available.
The original 8 quart models come with a sealing ring, stainless steel steam rack with handles, rice paddle, soup spoon, measuring cup, condensation collector and recipe booklet.
For the new Duo Nova and Duo Evo Plus, it also comes with two sealing rings. It might not include a rice paddle or soup spoon .
From an accessories perspective, there are several accessories that are sized to fit the 8 quart models. One thing to note, the Duo Evo Plus has a specialized liner thats not interchangeable with the other Instant Pots of this size.
