Egg White & Red Pepper Bites

4 Instant Pot Recipes for Silicone Egg Bites Mold | Step-by-Step Instant Pot Recipe

I wanted to recreate the popular Starbucks flavor by using egg whites and roasted red pepper, but something interesting happened the first time I tested this recipe the ingredients all floated to the top of the mold, as pictured above.

That means all of the toppings were on the bottom of the egg bite, leaving the rest of the egg bite totally plain. This didnt happen with my other egg bites using the whole egg only the egg whites.

You can get around this by adding your veggies, or other add ins, to the mold first, then pouring the egg white mixture over the top to fill the mold. The spinach still sometimes floats to the top, but the other ingredients disperse better!

Ive included two more flavor variations in the recipe below a simple Gruyere version , and a pizza version made with sun-dried tomatoes. I hope youll enjoy them!

Where Can I Get Silicone Egg Bite Mold

To make egg bites in Instant Pot you have to have a silicone mold. Actually two with two lids. Sorry but I tried my way around it for over a year and finally buckled up and spent some money haha.

I got this one on Amazon. What I like is that it has 2 lids and not 1 to prevent spilling. And lid is also silicone, so Im not cooking plastic.

  • Pressure cook on Low: Then close the lid, move valve to Sealing and Pressure Cook on Low for 8 minutes 8 quart Instant Pot, 11 minutes 6 quart Instant Pot. And then we release pressure using Quick Release.

The Best Instant Pot Egg Bites

We have discovered the famous Starbucks Egg Bites last year when weve stopped at our local Starbucks and ordered some Sous Vide Egg Bites. They were so charming, delicious and adorable, that we just fell in love with them. Not only they are cute and easy to make, but they are the perfect family breakfast.

Also, what is great about them is that kids adore them as much as adults. Every time we make them, our son just cant get enough. We decided to take it a step further and perfect the Starbucks version of this dish. Even though their version tastes good, we felt that it has too much cheese in it, and the flavors could be improved.

Thats why we decided to give this recipe a try and make it at home using the pressure cooker. Since I am not a fan of cottage cheese, we skipped that one and made our recipe with milk instead. This is a great healthy breakfast on the go or something that you can make ahead of time and reheat in the morning.

They are delicious, puffy, and very versatile. In addition, they are way healthier than the Starbucks version, and you can use your favorite filling to prepare them!

To do this, place the silicone mold filled with the egg mixture on a sturdy baking sheet to keep them steady. Bake at 350ºF until the center of the egg bites have set, about 40 to 45 minutes. They will rise out of the mold a LOT during the baking process , but keep in mind that they will deflate as they cool!

Do I Need A Blender For Egg Bites Instant Pot

3 Recipes for Your Instant Pot Egg Bites Mold – Healthy and NOT Egg Bites

After testing egg bites, one thing I can tell you I did not like using a blender. Maybe because my egg bites recipe contains no cheese but blended mixture got so thin, even ground pepper and salt settled at the bottom of the bite. Making one side spicy and another side plain. Yuck.

No blender. Even easier for me, a busy mom. Trust me, I hate washing blender and meat cutting board more than anything.

Covering Egg Bites Before Cooking

For cute and un-soggy egg bites, cover the mold with a parchment round or aluminum foil before cooking so condensation on the lid doesn’t drip down on the egg mixture. If your egg molds came with a plastic lid, they are for storage and cant be used for cooking. If the egg mold lid is silicone, you should be able to use it when cooking, but check the manufacturer’s instructions first.

How To Make It:

Prepare the egg mixture. First, youll use a blender to blend the eggs, cottage cheese, swiss cheese, salt, and pepper until smooth.

Prepare the silicone egg mold. Next, youll add a little bit of fresh spinach to each egg mold then divide the egg mixture between them. Finish with a bit of crumbled sausage, then loosely cover the mold with foil.

Prepare the Instant Pot. Then, youll pour 1 cup of water into the Instant Pot then place the silicone mold on the trivet and lower down into the Instant Pot. Close the lid and set the vent to the sealed position.

Cook and serve. Last, youll Select a cook time of 8 minutes at high pressure. When the cooking time is complete, allow a 10-minute natural release, followed by a quick release of remaining pressure. Lift the mold out of the Instant Pot and remove the foil. Serve egg bites warm.
