Why Do You Add Milk Or Water To Scrambled Eggs
As mentioned earlier, you can add a little water, 1 to 1 1/2 tablespoons of water per egg, to make the scrambled eggs fluffier. On the other hand, if your priority is creamy scrambled eggs, you can add scrambled eggs. But adding milk may also result in colorless or rubbery scrambled eggs if you overcooked them in any way.
We all have to go through days full of activities. Then we barely manage time to prepare food. So, we tend to go for restaurant food. But if you dont like it this way, you can always prepare the Instant pot scrambled eggs within minutes and go with your busy day.Dont forget to share if you have any other variations of this recipe.

BHT, or butylated hydroxytuluene, is a preservative that is used in some foods, cosmetics, pesticides, and plastics. BHT may cause a variety of health conditions.
GMOs are the newest food phenomenon, and perhaps phobia. It is difficult to discuss GMOs in an apolitical way. GMO stands for genetically modified organism. What we now call GMOs are new, unproven, and could carry risks to health, the environment, and global food production. Whether you are concerned about GMOs is a personal choice.
Organic fats and oils are generally GMO-free, but as bio-engineering has created virtually all food as we know it, its hard to decide how non-GMO is defined. See Wikipedias article on GMOs.
Tips For Making The Best Instant Pot Quinoa
- Rinse quinoa before preparing. It takes away the bitterness.
- Spray the instant pot with cooking spray. It will keep it from sticking to the pot, and makes clean-up easy.
- Use less water than you would if preparing on the stovetop. The instant pot doesnt have as much evaporation, so using less water takes this into consideration. This way you will end up with tender quinoa that isnt mushy!
- Add a pinch of salt if using water.
- Try different types of broth for more flavor.

Add Oil To The Inside Of The Pot
Another way is to coat the inside of your instant pot with oil.
Of course, do this when your instant pot is cold and then allow the oil to heat with your pot, as otherwise, you may burn yourself.
Since the vast majority of recipes have a water-based sauce , and because oil and water wont mix, the sauce will not be able to touch the sides of the pot, meaning the ingredients that youre cooking simply wont stick.
When cooking in a more traditional pan, you always pre-heat the pan and then add your oil. This gives the oil that youre cooking with time to heat, which means that when you add your ingredients, they wont stick.
Add Ingredients To Your Slow Cooker In Steps Based On How Long They Take To Cook
“Add ingredients in stages the same way you would on the stove. Meat, onions, seasoning, and stock should go in first and cook on low all day. When you get home, turn it up to high and add your veggies or pasta last that way they dont become mush but still get a chance to cook and absorb the flavors.”

Tips For The Best Instant Pot Rice
Want a few more tips for making rice in your Instant Pot? Read on!
- Rinse & Drain Rice Well: Its important to rinse the rice until the water becomes clear. You can rinse it using the inner pot of the Instant Pot, if desired. Just add the rice, run it under cold water and rub the rice together using both hands. This will get rid of excess starches on the surface and prevent the rice from becoming gluey. Be sure to drain it to avoid cooking it with too much water.
- Use the Same Measuring Cup: I recommend using the same measuring cup for the rice and the water to ensure that the ratio is one to one.
- Can I Double the Recipe? Sure! Use equal proportions of water and rice and cook it for the same amount of time. You can make however much youd like following this ratio just remember not to fill your Instant Pot more than halfway.

The Difference Between Pam And Other Cooking Fats
PAM makes it easy to grease every nook and cranny of a muffin tin, but its convenience comes with a price, albeit a minor one. When you cook with butter or oil, you can be sure you know exactly what is going into your food while not necessarily healthy, these fats are made using natural ingredients. PAM on the other hand, requires a few additional chemicals in order to propel the oil from can to pan in a steady stream.
According to The Spruce Eats, PAM contains three key ingredients: oil, lecithin, and butane or propane. Each of these elements plays an important role in this cooking spray. Lecithin is a kind of fat often found in soybeans and egg yolks that acts as an emulsifier so the oil sprays well and creates a nonstick coating on a pan .
PAM uses butane or propane to actually spray the oil. These are known as propellants, and they are essential for many products, though not one you’re probably used to seeing in your food. Still, these ingredients are used in food products more than you might think, and the FDA has categorized them as “Generally Recognized As Safe” , according to Eating Well.

Slow Cooker Liner Tips
While reading reviews of crock pot liners on the internet, there were a ton of positive ones and there were also a small number of people who had some negative things to say about them. Here are the top 3 common problems they were reporting:
- Melted liner
- Plastic smell
All of those sound pretty bad, so to ensure that your slow cooker liner experience is a good one, here are some tips to make your slow cooker experience a success!
Works Well: Creating Even Consistent Coating
An evenly-greased pan means your baked goods wont stick. No one wants to make a Bundt cake only to have half of it stay behind in the pan! Cooking spray coats more evenly than butter or shortening. For pans with lots of crevices and hard-to-reach places, consider using baking spray, which also contains flour for extra release protection.

Use Quick Release For Foamy Food Or When It Is Overfilled
Have you seen pictures of applesauce splattered all over the Instant Pot through the Venting Knob?
Mistake: Many new users are unsure when to use Quick Pressure Release and Natural Pressure Release. Theres a chance of splattering if users use Quick Release when cooking foamy food, such as grains or beans.
Solution #1: Use Natural Release for foamy food or when the pot is overfilled.
But waitmost pasta recipes call for Quick Release, what should we do?
Solution #2: Release the pressure gradually.
You dont have to turn the Venting Knob all the way to Venting Position to release pressure.
The initial release is usually the strongest. So, release the pressure gradually by turning the venting knob just a little with your hand or wooden spoon until you hear a hissing sound. Hold it at that position to release the pressure gradually.

Add At Least 1 Cup Of Liquid:
In a slow cooker, the process takes long enough that in many cases, meat can release its natural juices, and thats enough to keep it from drying out. Not so with the Instant Pot! If your slow cooker recipe doesn’t have at least 1 cup of liquid, make sure to add some. Usually, broth is a good solution for that, but water can work, too. Or if your recipe already has liquid in it, like the can of chicken broth in our Slow Cooker Moroccan Chicken Stew recipe, then youre good to go.

Can You Use Liquid Batter In An Air Fryer
Dont use a wet batter or coating.
Beer batter on fried fish cooks up to a crispy shell when you fry in oil. But in an air fryer there is nothing to set a wet batter it will just drip off while the food cooks. If youre after crunch, dredge your food in flour, egg and breadcrumbs instead.
To Wash Or Not To Wash Your Rice
Should you wash your rice before cooking your Instant Pot Rice?
The answer is it depends. In most cases its not necessary to wash your rice before you cook it.
When you rinse your rice, you are rinsing starch out, and this controls how sticky the rice will be. If you want nice, fluffy rice that doesnt clump together, rinse it first.
Unwashed white rice is great when you want to make a sticky rice dish. For example:

Warm The Oil Before Adding Ingredients
A lot of people might make the mistake, when using an instant pot, of adding the oil when the pots cold, and then allowing the pot and the oil to heat together.
This, simply, wont work. You need to add these important ingredients to your instant pot in sequence and allow them to heat up independently.
The reason for this is that when using an instant pot, youll often be agitating the ingredients in the pot a lot less than if you were using a more traditional pot.
Because of this, ingredients can sink to the bottom and stick, so you need to make sure that you can adequately coat ingredients with oil by adding them in the right order.
The Instant Pot Is Not An Always Intuitive Appliance
If youre new to the slow cooker or pressure cooker, the Instant Pot is going to take some getting use to. There are so many buttons and settings to consider that it might feel overwhelming at first, but dont let that deter you. As Kelli said in her review of the Instant Pot, its best to really sit down and read the manual before digging in.
When youre trying out recipes for the first time in your Instant Pot, keep things simple. The best recipes to start with specifically if youre new to pressure cooking are eggs, dried beans, and simple vegetables.

Do Coat Food In A Little Oil Before Cooking
While most people like air fryers for their ability to cook up crispy fried foods with no oil, the color and taste of your dinner will be dramatically improved with just a little. Spray breaded foods with a little nonstick cooking spray, lightly brush meats with a little vegetable oil, and toss vegetables with just enough olive oil to make them shiny. The fat in the oil will promote even browning and help seasonings stick to the food.
You’re Slow Cooking On Low
The miraculous Instant Pot also moonlights as a slow cooker, but you won’t get very far if you’re using the “low” setting for your beef stew. Because “low” is more comparable to the “keep warm” function on your slow cooker, you can imagine that your meat will still be about as raw as when it went in, even after hours of cook time. Use the “normal” setting for a true slow cooker “low,” and the “more” setting for “high.” Or scrap the raw beef stew and opt for plan B: steak tartare.

Overfill The Instant Pot
Mistake: Many new users fill their Instant Pot with food & liquid up to the Max Line . This may risk clogging the Venting Knob.
Solution: Be mindful that the Max Line printed on Instant Pots Inner Pot is not intended for Pressure Cooking.
- For Pressure Cooking: maximum 2/3 full
- For Pressure Cooking Food that Expands During Cooking : maximum 1/2 full
If you accidentally overfilled the pot, dont panic. Just make sure to use Natural Pressure Release to stay safe and clean.
Can I Use Pam Cooking Spray In An Air Fryer
Simple answer? No. You should NEVER use PAM cooking spray inside an air fryer. Let me rephrase that.
You should never use PAM on or in ANY non-stick appliance or pot.
PAM and other aerosol cooking sprays have an ingredient called soy lecithin. It ends up destroying the non-stick coating on the pan and adds a thick layer of sticky gunk. Its basically impossible to remove.
The coating to make a pot or appliance, like your air fryer, non-stick is there so you dont have to use anything else.
Be on the lookout for other cooking sprays, like this PAM Oil Mister that looks safe, but still contains soy lecithin.
If any of your food is sticking to the air fryer, feel free to spritz a little oil into the basket before placing your food in. You can also use a small amount of coconut oil and rub it in the basket before turning it on.
I learned the hard way through the years and completely destroyed my non-stick cooking pan from using PAM for quesadillas. Never again.
