Salty And Sweet Combination
I am a big fan of desserts that have a salty component to them. I find that salt brings out the sweetness and flavor in desserts and makes it even more delicious. Mango sticky rice is such an amazing example of that perfect salty sweet combination. Sweet, sticky rice and juicy mangos, drizzled with a salty coconut sauce, creates an irresistible blend of sweet and salty, chewy and creamy.
In Thailand, traditionally the sauce that is served as a topping for mango sticky rice is salty and has no sugar added. This helps cut through the richness and sweetness of the sticky rice. However, I find that in the US, whenever Ive ordered Mango sticky rice at restaurants they drizzle the sticky rice with a sweet sauce instead.
My recipe is very close to the traditional recipe and Ive included instructions to make the salty coconut pouring sauce. If you arent a fan of that salty and sweet combination, you might not prefer the salty coconut topping sauce. If thats the case, add a couple of tablespoons of sugar while making the pouring sauce and either reduce the salt by half or omit it entirely. This will result in a sweet pouring sauce similar to the one served in restaurants in the US.
Instant Pot Pork Chops And Gravy Ingredients
Yes, this recipe is quick but the best part is you dont need any ingredients or anything super fancy for this dish. You will need:
- Pork chops
- Chicken broth
Pork chops Boneless or bone- in chops work in this recipe. The cook time and everything stays the same.
Spices These are basic spices that I use for most of my meals. They give the meat a good flavor without being overpowering. Feel free to adjust the spices to your taste.
Olive oil This is used to grease the inner pot. You can also use butter instead.
Chicken broth You need a liquid in the pot to cook your pork chops. Chicken broth provides a nice flavor and makes a great gravy after.
Cornstarch This will help thicken your broth and create the gravy after cooking. Cornstarch can be found in the baking aisle. You can also use arrowroot powder if youd like.

Should I Use The Rice Button On My Instant Pot
The Instant Pots rice button is best used for white rice, as it is specifically calibrated to weigh white rice and water and cook the rice accordingly. This is ideal for weeknights when you truly want to set and forget your rice, but not great for cooking different varieties of rice on the fly.
Luckily, you can use your Instant Pots manual pressure function to cook white, brown, or wild rice on high pressure in just a few minutes. Heres how to do it.

Instant Pot Sushi Rice Recipe
I have to admit this is an Instant Pot recipe Ive been working to perfect for a few weeks and I am happy to report that my recipe for Instant Pot sushi rice is finally ready to be shared!
Cooking this sticky rice in the Instant Pot has helped me make the perfect sushi rice every single time. It tastes amazing!
You might be wondering- why not just use regular white rice? Is there actually a difference?
Well, sushi rice is typically a short-grain rice that contains a lot more starch than say the regular long-grain rice that many of us eat. Having that extra starch is what helps make the rice sticky and gives it texture for some of those classic Asian dishes. .
Instant Pot Swedish Meatballs
This speedier version of Swedish meatballs is streamlined and made in an Instant Pot®, but loses nothing that we love about the classic recipe. Gone is the step of chilling and resting the subtly spiced meatballs we brown them as soon as theyre formed. We also bypass the tedious process of making a roux and whisking in broth to form the rich, creamy gravy. Instead, we simply pour the broth over the meatballs, dot it with pieces of beurre manie and let the Instant Pot® do the work. After the steam is released, all thats left to do is stir in some heavy cream.

Tips For Instant Pot Beginners
No matter which method you use to cook your ham in the Instant Pot, there are a few tips you can use to ensure you make a delicious ham for your holiday meal. Use these easy tricks for making your Instant Pot ham:
- Always add liquid to the pot. When pressure cooking your ham, its essential that you add at least one cup of liquid to the pot. Without liquid, the ham will burn and stick to the bottom of the pot. And when youre using the slow cooker method, liquid in the pot will help add more flavor to your meat and keep it moist during the extended cook time.
- Trim to fit. Its a good idea to keep the ham from touching the sides of your Instant Pot to keep it from sticking and burning. Before putting your ham in the pot, make sure it properly fits and trim the ends as needed.

Making Yogurt In An Instant Pot With Goat Milk
Yogurt is what I call a sterile culturing process. The substrate aka the milk, is sterilized then inoculated with chosen microbes. This is very different from the wild fermentation process we normally write about. Within just 12 24 hours of inoculating sterile milk with friendly bacteria, youll have yogurt!
I highly suggest using organic goat milk or cow milk sourced from the farmers market. Raw milk works wonderfully too if you have access to someone with a dairy cow but you will have to cook it before using it to make yogurt. There are some great options for organic milk at the grocery store. Here we used Meyenberg Goat Milk from Whole Foods. Goat milk yogurt is naturally thinner than cow milk yogurt because goat milk has less lactose. If you prefer thick and more solid yogurt, you should use cow milk. You can also do a half and half mix, and then strain off the whey with cheesecloth to thicken it even more.
Heres what you will need to make this yogurt in an instant pot:
- 64 fluid ounces organic Cow or Goat Milk
- A starter culture or yogurt with live active cultures
- Jars for the finished yogurt
Here are the settings you will use to make this recipe.
- First, you sterilize the milk on the high setting at 181° F
- Then, you allow the milk to cool
- Next, add your starter cultures or already made yogurt
- Last, you will incubate the yogurt for 12 hours on the medium setting at 107° F.

Is Sushi Rice And Sticky Rice The Same
Sushi rice is often called sticky rice. The types of rice used in Korean cuisine are also referred to as sticky rice. Though several types of short grain rice are lumped together into the sticky category, only one kind of rice is used to make steamed sticky rice common in the Thai and Laotian cultures.
What To Serve With Homemade Sushi Rice
Sushi rice has a great flavor profile but it also works as a blank canvas. There are so many things you can use it for.
My family LOVES sweet and sour chicken so I like to cook that up as a meal and serve it with white sushi rice. If I am trying to go for something a bit simpler and lighter, Ill cook up some sushi rice in the Instant Pot while I simmer some delicious egg drop soup on the stovetop and chop up my favorite Asian spicy cucumber salad with sesame.

Instant Pot Mac And Cheese
Theres nothing more comforting than a good bowl of mac and cheese. Ever tried it in your pressure cooker? Turns out, Instant Pot mac and cheese is layer upon layer of cozy. The way the Instant Pot cooks pasta makes it soft and supple, which has a down-home sort of vibe to it. Its not al dente, but it almost feels like an elevated version of box mac and cheese. The method is very hands off: throw the ingredients in the pot and press Go! Nothing better than that.

Instant Pot Tres Leches Bread Pudding
Welcome to the best bread pudding my husband has ever had, Pitre claims. Roger is a bit of a bread pudding fanatic. We also love tres leches cake. So I decided to try mixing the two and ended up with a great bread pudding that was especially light and airy from the croissants, and moist from steaming in the Instant Pot. That meant Roger still had to go get me my cake, but I think he felt quite well rewarded for the effort.
