INSTANT POT PORK TENDERLOIN // QUICK AND HEALTHY ONE POT DINNER!

18 minutes later I had a complete dinner on the table. The pot did take about 10 minutes to come to pressure. Lets consider this a one-minute shy of a 30-minute meal.

The meat was perfectly tender and delicious, the apples gave a hint of sweetness, while the red cabbage was the complement to the meal. I also loved how the apples lightly turned into natural applesauce on top of the cabbage. I mentioned earlier you can use any seasoned pork tenderloin to your liking, but I would highly recommend this Apple bourbon one by Hormel. YUMMY! Aunt Nellies red cabbage can be found in the vegetable section.

How To Make Pork Tenderloin In The Instant Pot Vortex Air Fryer

Once the pork tenderloin is coated well, transfer it to an air fryer tray that has been sprayed well with cooking oil.; I set my Vortex to 380 and cooking time was 26 minutes total for my best roast. You want to cook until the pork temperature measures at least 145 degrees after inserting a meat thermometer in the tenderloin from the end, pushing it to the center.; This temperature is the best for a medium pork roast that is super juicy. For well done, which I dont really recommend, but I know preference vary, take it to 165. That will require around 5 minutes more cooking time.

I turned my tenderloin at minutes 20, 15, 10, 7, and 4. Each time, I basted it; with a bit more of the sauce by brushing some on. This makes a nice tasty crust on the pork. You do not have to be precise on when you turn it. I ignore when the Vortex tells me to turn to food on most recipes.

The air fryer function will make the pork crust very deeply brown, especially since the sugars form the honey will caramelize. If yo prefer a less darkly browned roast, you can try the roast function instead. Just make sure to monitor the meat temperature.; Regardless, this is meant to crisp up with a dark crust.;

Season The Pork Tenderloin

There are a few different ways you can flavor pork tenderloin, but the most important thing to remember is to use salt! Seasoning a tenderloin with enough salt helps to tenderize the meat and get the juices flowing!;

We used the BEST dry rub for pork to season this pork tenderloin. It is the perfect spice rub for pork because it has a delicious combination of salty, savory, and sweet spices.

Massage the dry rub all over the tenderloin and let is sit for at least 30 minutes. The longer your meat sits in the dry rub the more tender and flavorful it will be! We like to let it sit in the dry rub overnight if theres time!

    Why Buy An Instant Pot

    One major benefit to a pressure cooker is steam pressure cooks meat faster than the oven.

    For example, if you cooked this Pork Roast For Two recipe in the oven, it would take you almost 2 hours until the meat is tender. In the Instant Pot, it takes about 30 minutes.

    The fact I can make a pork loin roast faster without sacrificing flavor is quite amazing.

    Unlike a slow cooker, you can sear the meat directly in the pot. This means the meat will have more flavor from the browning.

    With a slow cooker, most inserts arent stovetop proof, so you have to sear the meat in a separate pan then transfer it to the cooker.

    Not only is there an extra dish to wash, sometimes you dont have time if youre prepping the slow cooker before leaving for work.

    Check Pork Tenderloin Internal Temperature

    Check;pork tenderloin internal temperature at its thickest part with an accurate thermometer.

    Air Fryer Instant Pot Vortex Pork Tenderloin

    I love a good marinated pork tenderloin. So, as soon as I got my Instant Pot Vortex Plus 7 in 1 air fryer oven, I; knew that a good marinated Instant Pot Vortex pork tenderloin would be soon in my future.; I looked at some general air fryer pork tenderloin recipes, but then decide to simply convert for the air fryer an old favorite honey mustard pork tenderloin recipe from the wonderful food blog Jo Cooks that I used to oven roast with a few modifications.; After a bit of experimenting on how long to cook the tenderloin, I was very happy with the result. This recipe can be made in any air fryer. If you wan to try Pork Chops, try my Instant Pot Vortex Pork Chops recipe. Also see my ongoing list of Instant Pot Vortex recipes.;

    Note: Contrary to what a few commenters believe, I did indeed use a pretrimmed tenderloin for this recipe and not a loin. I think the confusion arose from the fact that my tenderloin was not as longs as they sometimes can be. Plus the angle of some photos might have made it appear a bit more like a loin.; In any event, a tenderloin was used for this recipe. If you wish to use a loin, aim for a small one and monitor internal temperature as cooking times may vary. I have made this same recipe with a small prepackaged loin with no issues and pretty much the same cook time.; To learn more about the difference between a loin and and tenderloin see this article.;

    Can I Leave The Browned Bits On The Bottom Of The Instant Pot

    Instant Pot Pork Tenderloin

    No. After searing the roast, some browned bits will be stuck to the bottom of your Instant Pot. This is normal. However, you need to scrape those up before pressure cooking begins.

    This is because the browned bits stuck to the bottom get really hot when pressure cooking starts. This heat signals to the unit that something is burning. You can then get a burn notice from the Instant Pot and it will shut itself off.

    To prevent this burn notice, after searing the roast, add liquid to the Instant Pot. Let it come to a simmer. This softens and loosens the stuck bits.

    Use a wooden spoon to scrape up all the browned stuck bits so that theyre floating in the liquid. From there, you can proceed with the recipe.

    Start With A Simple Rub

    We start by cutting our pork tenderloin in half lengthwise to have two equal lengths of meat. This will help the pressure cooking process. Then we add a rub of brown sugar, salt, pepper, paprika, onion powder and garlic powder. Fresh, course ground pepper is my choice to use and I like to go heavy on it. I personally love to use a peppercorn medley which consists of black peppercorns, pink peppercorns, green peppercorns, white peppercorns and coriander. The combination of peppercorns, especially when fresh ground creates such a wonderful flavor profile when combined with the other seasonings for this recipe. You can find peppercorn medley grinders in just about any supermarket spice section, usually very affordably too.
