Instant Pot Honey Bbq Pork Rib Tips

BBQ COCA COLA RIB TIPS | 2-INGREDIENT INSTANT POT RECIPE | COOK WITH ME!

Addictively sweet and spicy, you can whip up a batch of these rib tips in no time thanks to the convenience of a pressure cooker.

  • 1 tablespoon plus ½ teaspoon kosher salt, divided
  • 2½ teaspoons garlic powder, divided
  • 2¼ teaspoons smoked paprika, divided
  • ¾ teaspoon ground black pepper, divided
  • 3 pounds pork rib tips, cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 1 cup water
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme
  • ¼ teaspoon ground red pepper
  • In a small bowl, stir together 1 tablespoon salt, 2 teaspoons garlic powder, 2 teaspoons paprika, and ½ teaspoon black pepper sprinkle over rib tips. Let stand at room temperature for 1 hour. Pat ribs dry.
  • In a 6-quart Instant Pot with trivet placed inside, combine 1 cup water and vinegar. Arrange rib tips, vertically, in a single layer. Lock lid close pressure-release valve.
  • Select MANUAL feature. Pressure cook on HIGH for 40 minutes. Let pressure release naturally, about 30 minutes. Uncover and press CANCEL feature.
  • Remove rib tips and trivet set aside. Drain, reserving ¼ cup cooking liquid in Instant Pot add honey, bourbon, ketchup, Worcestershire, mustard, thyme, and red pepper. Select SAUTE function, and cook until sauce is thickened, about 5 minutes. Stir in remaining ½ teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon garlic powder, ¼ teaspoon paprika, and ¼ teaspoon black pepper. Press CANCEL feature. Carefully transfer sauce to a bowl.
  • Bake until lightly caramelized, about 4 minutes. Brush with any remaining sauce. Serve immediately.

    How To Cook Prime Rib In The Instant Pot

  • Score the fat cap of a 3-pound boneless beef rib roast by cutting in a cross-hatch pattern.
  • Generously season the roast on all sides with sea salt and ground black pepper. Give it a good coating, even if it seems like too much salt.
  • Place the trivet in the Instant Pot, then place the roast on top of the trivet. Add 1 cup unsalted beef stock and ½ cup red wine.Optionally, add a few sprigs of fresh herbs.
  • Lock the lid in place and make sure the vent is in the “sealing” position. Choose the manual setting, low pressure, and set the time for 5 minutes.Once the time is done, do not remove the lid or release the pressure. Leave the roast in the pot for 30 more minutes. The Instant Pot will automatically switch to the “keep warm” setting.
  • Once 30 minutes is up, open the pot and insert a meat thermometer at the thickest part of the rib. Be careful when removing the lid. The meat thermometer should read 115°F. If it is too low, put the lid back on and leave it on warm for 5 to 10 more minutes.
  • Remove the roast to a plate and strain the liquids from the pot into a cup. Set aside.
  • Remove the trivet from the pot. Select the highest saute setting. Add 3 tablespoons vegetable oil and place the prime rib roast back into the pot. Sear on all sides until it browns, approximately 10-15 minutes.

    Feel free to use any kind you like best. Our two most favorite types which we always use are:

    If you live in high altitude, choose the higher number so you cook the ribs a bit longer. For lower altitude simple chose the lower cooking time.

    • To cook them Chicago style increase the temperature to 300 degrees and baste the ribs the last 30 minutes of cook with your favorite bbq sauce.
    • Whenever I buy slabs of ribs, I carve them and then freeze the tips until I’m ready to cook them.

    How To Cook Ribs In An Instant Pot

    Whether making ribs or todays rib adventure, Air Fryer Pork Rib Tips. The first thing to do is to prepare them.

    For Pork Riblets, this means cutting them into 1 to 2-inch pieces. Riblets usually come prepacked at your grocery store. It not ask your local butcher shop or ask your meat department.

    Usually, the membrane is removed. If not remove, that will make it easier to cut. Cut your riblet up, then place them into the air fryer basket.

    Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit for about 4 to 6 minutes. Then place the riblets into the air fryer basket. Either side, for about 10 minutes, shaking the basket frequently.

    When the ribs are fully cooked, remove them from the air fryer basket.

    Using a pair of tongs toss in yourfavorite BBQ sauce.

    • Baby back ribs are the ribs that attach to the pigs spine. They are small and are found on the back of the pig . They are smaller and leaner than spare ribs. You can tell baby back ribs because the bone is bent, while spare ribs are straight.
    • Spare ribs are from the pigs sides, extending towards the pigs breast plate. Spare ribs have straight bones and are meatier and fattier.
    • St Louis style ribs are the same part of the pig as spare ribs, they are just trimmed a little more, with the tips and cartilage cut off, making them shorter than regular spare ribs.
    • Country style ribs arent even really ribs. They come from the top of the pigs shoulder. Technically, they are actually chops, not ribs. They are extra meaty, with a higher meat-to-bone ratio.

    How To Caramelize Instant Pot Bbq Ribs

    Optionally, you can caramelize the BBQ baby back ribs. I always like to caramelize it after so the BBQ sauce sticks to the meat and the crusts of the meat browns and crisps a little as well.

    Here are some options that doesnt require a grill!

    Option 1: Instant Pot Air Fryer Lid / Instant Pot Duo Crisp + Air Fryer

    If youre using the Instant Pot Air Fryer Lid, just put the coated ribs back in the inner pot and put the air fryer lid on top. Run Air Fry for 10 minutes at 400F.

    Travelling Foodie Tip: It is preferred to have the inner pot drained of liquids and dried before placing the ribs back for air frying. BUT I also tried just air frying without doing this and didnt find a big noticeable difference in quality so it really depends if you want to do the extra cleaning step, which I dont.

    Option 2: Broil in the Oven

    Place the pork ribs on a tray lined with aluminum foil and broil for 6-8 minutes in a pre-heated oven.

    Option 3: Air Fryer

    If youre using a separate air fryer, like my Cuisinart Air Fryer Toaster Oven, air fry the ribs at 400F for 7-8 minutes.
