Instant Pot frozen vegetables. How to cook frozen vegetables in your Instant Pot. Step-by-step instructions that show you how to make a delicious, healthy side dish in your Instant Pot.
For Whole Spaghetti Squash:
- Start by cutting the squash in half. My personal preference is to slice the spaghetti squash crosswise rather than lengthwise because it produces longer strands that better resemble spaghetti. Youve gotta get a good twirl on your fork! They also soak up sauce better this way. Then, remove the seeds.
- Place a steamer basket or trivet in the pot along with one cup of water.
- Place the squash halves into the basket or trivet and seal the lid.
- Set the pressure cooker to cook on high for 7 minutes and follow up with a quick release. You can do a natural pressure release for a few minutes if you prefer your pasta well done. A quick-release will give you al dente results.

Instant Pot Frozen Brussel Sprouts
Instant Pot Frozen Brussel Sprouts is my all time favourite. That is because for US it is a very seasonal and often expensive vegetable to source.
Growing up in England they were always cheap and readily available but here in Portugal it is a different story.
Normally, we buy them just for Christmas, but now looking at the price frozen it is worth thinking about for the rest of the year.
How To Cook Frozen Brussel Sprouts In The Instant Pot? We cooked half a bag of frozen Brussel Sprouts in the Instant Pot.
It took just 1 minute, and we cooked them inside of our steamer basket. We also included a cup of water into the bottom of the inner pot.
RecipeThis.com Opinion: They were perfect, and the taste was just as good as fresh Brussel Sprouts. We will be buying them every week now and it is nice to have an all year-round supply.

Press the manual button and set the time to zero minutes on high pressure. Pour the broth into the bottom of the instant pot. Its best to use the frozen asparagus within 6 months, for the freshest possible outcome.
Remove the asparagus to a large dish, remove the trivet and get rid of the water. Turn off the heat and do a quick release. Close the lid and turn the valve to a sealing position.
If its exposed to the air at all, it will become freezer burnt quickly. Set cooker to the steam 2 setting Put 1 tbsp of butter on top of each fillet.
Place steamer rack in instant pot. Pour cold water and lemon juice into an electric pressure cooker . Pour ½ cup cold water and place a stainless steel steamer basket in instant pot.
Place a cup of water into your instant pot and add your steamer basket. Place stalks on the rack, lock the lid in place, and cook on high for 1 minute. Okay, any home cook will agree that garlic and butter are going to be able to save just about anything, and this holds true with frozen asparagus.

Best Vegetables For Stock
Feel free to add just about any vegetable scraps you have to your stock. You cant mess this recipe up its incredibly forgiving! These are my personal favorites for adding lots of flavor and vitamins:
- Garlic
- Zucchini
- Herbs: Thyme, rosemary, basil, chives, cilantro, and/or oregano.
Adding scraps from starchy and green vegetables like butternut squash, spinach, tomatoes, potatoes, and legumes is totally fine- I do it all the time and I love it!
However, starchy vegetables will change the clarity of the stock, giving it a bit of a cloudier look. If youd prefer a clearer stock as shown in the pictures here, I suggest sticking to the less starchy vegetables listed above.

For Simple Instant Pot Steamed Carrots:
- Clean carrots and peel if desired. Slice, chunk, or shred carrots if desired.
- Place the trivet or steamer basket into the inner pot and add one cup of water. Then, add the carrots.
- For sliced or shredded carrots: Cook on HIGH pressure for 0 minutes before performing a quick release. Even though the timer is set to zero, the cooking still happens during the pressure build-up.
- For whole or chunked carrots: Cook on high pressure for 1-3 minutes before performing a quick release. As a rule, thinner carrots or baby carrots will cook fine at the 1-minute mark, whereas larger, thicker, whole carrots will cook best around the 3-minute mark.
- For frozen: Add 1-2 minutes to the appropriate cooking time for the best results.
Instant Pot Frozen Broccoli
Instant Pot Frozen Broccoli is my most eaten vegetable. It is just always there and so easy to cook with in a range of dishes.
I always worried about buying broccoli frozen that it would lose its flavour or come out like mush once cooked.
Broccoli is not always in season, making it a good plan Bfor having in your freezer when you have a craving for it.
How To Cook Frozen Broccoli In The Instant Pot? We cooked half a bag of frozen broccoli in the Instant Pot.
We placed a cup of water into the bottom of the Instant Pot inner pot and placed the broccoli in a steamer basket on top of the trivet.
We then cooked the broccoli on the steam setting for 0 minutes.
RecipeThis.com Opinion: They were NOT mushy, as that was my biggest worry. 0 Minutes was the perfect setting and they had a delicious flavour to them.
A little salt and they are perfect for the dinner table.
My only complaint is that from brand to brand the shape of broccoli can alter and when steaming there is a worry that some pieces will be overcooked and some undercooked.

Important Tips For Steaming Vegetables In An Instant Pot
As mentioned earlier, this method is an incredibly easy way to steam vegetables. That being said, I have two important tips for you.
- Be sure to cut your vegetables in pieces that are as close in size as possible. This will help ensure that the vegetables cook evenly.
- Wait to add seasonings until after you remove the vegetables from the Instant Pot. This will ensure that your veggies have the best flavor possible.
Step By Step Instructions
The beauty of the Instant Pot is that your vegetable stock is made in just 15 minutes of cook time, and its almost all hands-off.
First, add the vegetables, bay leaves, and peppercorns to your Instant Pot. If youre using frozen vegetables, they do not need to be defrosted first. Use them straight from frozen.
Pour the cold water into the pot. Close the lid and turn to High Pressure set for 15 minutes.
Once its done cooking, allow for a natural pressure release , which means that you do nothing and wait for the steam to naturally dissipate over time. It usually takes about 15-20 minutes.
Once the steam release valve has dropped down, all the pressure has released. Carefully open the lid. Your broth is done cooking!
Last, set a fine mesh strainer over a large bowl or measuring cup. Use a ladle to spoon the broth into the bowl, straining out all the now cooked pieces of vegetables.
If you like a super clear broth, you can repeat the straining process a second time. I usually only do it once.
The broth is all done, and it can be used for eating or cooking right away. If youd like to store the stock for later, allow it to cool completely, then follow instructions for refrigerating and freezing it.
