You caught us onions are solid, but theyre mostly made of water and once the pressure starts to mount they release more than enough liquid to prevent the dreaded BURN message. Dan Shumski, author of How to Instant Pot: Mastering All the Functions of the One Pot That Will Change the Way You Cook, developed two of the recipes below and both rely on onions. How Long Does It Take To Cook A Pork Butt Per Pound In Instant Pot
The basic role will be cooking for approximately 40 minutes per pound at 300°F in the oven.Your meat will end up tender and fully cooked if you use this method.Note: During the cooking process, if the liquid in the bottom of the pan evaporates, just go ahead and add another ½ inch as needed.

After the pressure cooking time is up, the pressure inside needs to be released.You must do whats called the natural release for 10 minutes.As the heater of your Instant Pot stops heating at that time, the pressure inside will slowly dissipate.

How Long To Cook Pulled Pork In The Instant Pot
The amount of time you need to cook pork in the Instant Pot will vary based on the cut.
- Pork Loin. For a 4-to-5-pound pork loin, pressure cook for 40 minutes on high, then let the pressure release naturally for 15 minutes.
- Pork Shoulder/Butt. For a 4-to-5-pound pork shoulder or pork butt, cook the pork for 1 hour on high pressure, then let the pressure release naturally for 15 minutes.
- Pork Tenderloin. I do not recommend this cut for pulled pork, as it will be too dry. See more in the ingredients section below.
Thicker Pork Loin Needs Longer Keep Warm Time
The thicker your pork loin, the longer itll take to reach the desired temperature.
Keep in mind that if your pork loin is much thicker than the one we used to develop our recipe, it may take a much longer Keep Warm time.
*Note: Keep checking the temperature every 10 15 minutes depending on the size of your roast.
