Can You Cook Frozen Meat In A Pressure Cooker
It is possible to pressure cook smaller cuts of frozen meat and frozen poultry. You can also easily pressure cook frozen vegetables. To pressure cook thick pieces of frozen meat like beef or pork roasts, it will take up to one -third more than the normal cooking time, and the results will not taste very good.
For Reheating Pretty Much Everything From Frozen
1. Coat the base of the inner pot with cold water .
2. Remove the frozen lump from the freezer bag or container, place it directly in your pressure cooker .
3. Lock in the lid. Steam release handle pointing to Sealing. Press Manual. Programme 15 minutes. In a conventional pressure cooker: lock in the lid, bring to high pressure, time 15 minutes. Note that in newer, more powerful, Instant Pots, as little as 5 minutes with 5 minutes NPR does the trick . Play with the timings.
4. You can do a quick release at the end of this time or, if you are busy , let it do a natural release and even let it go to Keep Warm until you’re ready. It might still be in a lump when you open the lid, give it a good stir. Smaller frozen blocks of homemade food can get away with a bit less time usually but I tend to just go with my tried-and-tested 15 minutes. For bigger blocks I let it do a natural release.
Tip from me: In the case of chillies and bolognese I tend to then add a glug of red wine and let it sauté or slow cook for a while to enhance the flavours.
Chicken Breasts With Rice And Carrots
If youre looking for a quick, balanced meal, look no further than this chicken breasts with rice and carrots recipe. You can take chicken straight from the freezer to the Instant Pot for this recipe, thats how easy it is.
All you need is some long grain white rice, chicken broth, boneless, skinless chicken breasts, carrots, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. To cook it up in the Instant Pot, simply layer the frozen chicken breasts over the rice, chicken broth, and seasonings. Place the carrots on the very top.
Set the pot for nine minutes, and let it do a 5-minute natural release. If your chicken breasts are on the large side, feel free to add a couple of minutes to your pressure cooking time.

Can You Cook Chicken Thighs That Were Frozen In A Marinade
I dont recommend freezing chicken thighs in a marinade. Head over here to find out why. Basically, it results in the thighs being in the marinade for too long. This tends to toughen the meat.
Instead, I recommend adding flavor ingredients to the Instant Pot during cooking. The pressure forces the flavors into the meat and the result is delicious. Good additions are a sliced onion, sliced lemon, any herbs or seasonings you like, and/or whole garlic cloves.
There you have it! A new way to get dinner on the table super-quickly. If you try cooking chicken thighs from frozen, let me know how it goes in the comments below. Thanks and have a great day!
