Instant Pot Spaghetti Burn Message
Burn message can appear if you do not follow the instructions as detailed in this recipe. For example, the pasta sauce if stirred in can cause burn error as the instant pot needs thin liquid at the bottom to come to pressure. When sauce is stirred in, there’s no thin liquid for the IP to work with.
In the incident that you do get burn message, If the instant pot has come to pressure, turn it off and leave as it is for 10 minutes. The retained pressure will cook the food. After 10 minutes you can then depressurise and open the pot.
If pot hasn’t come to pressure before burn message, turn off the IP, quick release pressure, open the lid and scrape any stuck bits off the bottom of the pot. Finish off cooking with the saute or slow cook button.
Variations Of This Instant Pot Spaghetti:

- This pressure cooker spaghetti is naturally dairy-free, but be sure to check all of your ingredient labels to be sure.
- To make this Instant Pot Spaghetti vegetarian, replace the ground beef with extra sauteed veggies like mushrooms. Saute them as you would the beef, then proceed with the recipe.

This Instant Pot Spaghetti Is The Perfect Supper
This Instant Pot spaghetti is so good with my favorite jarred sauce, Ill admit it! I am going to be honest, there is nothing like homemade sauce like my slow cooker Bolognese sauce, and hey if you want to you can absolutely use my homemade bolognese sauce in this recipe! However, we dont all have a) the time to make it or b) a stash of homemade bolognese in the freezer. I love to use a good store-bought 4 cheese jarred sauce, its always the best sauce to buy. The 4 cheese really punches home the flavor and you dont have to add a bunch of Parmesan at the end. .

Instant Pot Firefighters Spaghetti
I made my own version of a recipe called firefighters chicken spaghetti that I found on Taste of Home. The original author says, Im always in the kitchen making dishes for my family, neighbors or the local fire department to try. My husband is a firefighter in our town, and this chicken spaghetti recipe is a favorite there. The original recipe requires boiling pasta on the stovetop, it uses pre-cooked chicken, calls for cream of chicken and mushroom soup and is baked in the oven. My version requires one pot, your Instant Pot. You can use pre-cooked or uncooked chicken. And I make my own creamy sauce with sour cream, seasonings and cream. Im sure both versions are great! But I guess it just depends on what you like and how you like to cook. I prefer the Instant Pot for easy clean up and easy hands off cooking.

Tips For Perfect Instant Pot Pasta
Id like to say that Instant Pot spaghetti is foolproof, but after spending a lot of time reading through comments in an Instant Pot Facebook group, I quickly learned that a few common problems plague this kind of recipe. But all of them can be easily avoided with good technique.
- Always scrape the bottom of the pot after browning the meat. The goal here is to avoid getting a BURN warning from your pot, so youll want to brown the meat, add a little water to the pot, and scrape, scrape, scrape before you add the marinara.
- Layer the water under and over the pasta. To cook the pasta evenly, youll want to make sure there is water both under the pasta and over it. I like to rinse my sauce jar with water and then pour it over the pasta to avoid waste, but feel free to skip this if youre using homemade sauce.
- Resist the urge to stir after the pasta is added. As soon as youve got the pasta in the pot and the water over it, put the lid on. You can give the pasta a gentle prod, but do not stir, which will give you gummy, stuck-together pasta.

Why make Perfect Pressure Cooker Pasta when the most common method is simply a matter of boiling water? Ive got reasons for days.
Nothing drives me more crazy in the kitchen than dealing with a pot of pasta on the stove that WILL NOT STOP FOAMING! You stir, stir, stir, and when that doesnt work, you take it off the heat, let it settle, only to put it back on the heat and have it quickly foam to the top and you repeat the entire process all over again.
Ive tried all the gizmos, the wooden spoon trick, the oil trick, etc, etc, and I have resolved to lose the stovetop pasta battle.
To my rescue, totally awesome pressure cooker!
I can throw the pasta, salt, and water in and walk away. In fact, I can even have my daughter do it while I take a nap!

Pressure Cooker Spaghetti Is Convenient
This is a great recipe for busy people, or people who don’t want to spend a lot of time cooking.
Less dishes – My favorite part of making pressure cooker spaghetti is the reduction of dishes. Traditionally cooking spaghetti and meat sauce produces at least three large pots to clean: the pasta pot, a frying pan, and a large sauce pot. This recipe is all cooked in the instant pot so you only need to clean one pot.
Easy cooking level – Lastly, there is very little hands-on cooking with this recipe. Beginner level cooks can use the saute and pressure cook features with ease, and those are the key features in getting this recipe made.
30-minutes start to finish – Of the 30 minutes, only the first 10 and the last 2 minutes are hands on. Use the free time to make a salad, toast up some garlic bread, or pour enjoy a beverage and a break.
