Important Safeguards
When using pressure cookers, basic safety precautions should always be followed.
1)Do not touch hot surfaces of pressure cooker. Use side handles for carrying.
2)Do not place the cooker on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
3)Intended for countertop use only.
4)Do not use pressure cooker for anything other than intended use.
5)Never deep fry or pressure fry in the cooker with oil.
6)Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
7)Do not use cooker in electrical systems other than 110-120V~/60Hz for North America.
8)Do not operate cooker with damaged cord or plug, or after the cooker malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.
9)Do not open the cooker until the cooker has cooled and all internal pressure has been released. If the oat valve is still up or the lid is di cult to turn, it is an indication that the cooker is still pressurized – do not force it open.

10)For all pressure cooking programs, the total amount of pre-cooked food and liquid in the inner pot should not pass the 2/3 line. When cooking food that expands during cooking such as rice, beans or vegetables, food should not pass the 1/2 line.

The Instant Pot LUX only replaces 6 appliances in your kitchen: a pressure cooker, slow cooker, rice cooker, a sauté pot, a steamer, and warmer. As you probably noticed, it doesnt have the yogurt making function, as the DUO has.
So, if you don’t see yourself making yogurt, then the LUX 60 v3 is going to be just fine for your needs at home. It’s got the same power as the DUO 60, it’s the same size , and uses the same type of technology.
But there are a few other differences I want to mention. First, the LUX only has High-intensity settings , and you can only set the warmer to up to 10 hours. Second, the lid is not supported by the pot, so youll have to place it on the counter when you want to check on the food.
Otherwise, the front panel looks similar, and the same type of materials were used for the outer and inner pots. The 3 ply bottom is just as effective in evenly distributing heat, and the flavor and nutrients are trapped in a sealed environment.
Finally, while it doesnt have a yogurt function, the LUX 60 has a cake making program and an egg cooking program, which are not available on the DUO.

Is Instant Pot Lux Easy To Use
As Ive mentioned a while ago, the Instant Pot IP Lux doesnt have a touch screen feature. Its quite old-school to be honest. However its not that difficult to use.
You just need to be careful when operating the pressure cook mode especially if youre new to it. The steam is too hot, it can burn your skin.
For safety purposes, I highly advice going over the included manual to familiarize with the proper way of using each function.
So yes, any multi-cooker has a certain level of difficulty, its not as straightforward as smoothie blenders.
