- Shred chicken while its warm. Warm chicken shreds much easier than cold. If you want to slice your chicken breasts for sandwiches and salads, then cold is the way to go.

Seasoning The Chicken Breasts
We have seasoned the chicken breasts with our all-purpose spice mix that is a bit reminiscent of rotisserie chicken. Its the same one that we use in our Instant Pot Whole Chicken. It calls for salt, pepper, dried thyme, and paprika. Its a classic taste, but there is a ton of room to get creative and switch that up if you want! Stick with the recommended amount of salt and pepper, and then change up to any seasoning you want, or even cook the chicken plain.
Why Do You Rinse Chicken
I rinse frozen chicken so oil and then spices will stick to it. Otherwise, good luck burning your fingers on a layer of frost and losing all spices.
If you carefully rinse raw meat in the sink, then wash your hands with soap and wash sink with dish soap and cloth, it is safe. It is absolutely OK.

As all meat does, the chicken will continue to cook while it is resting, and this is a good thing. After the chicken has finished cooking in the Instant Pot and the pressure has been released, check the temperature. It should ideally be around 160ºF or so. Close the lid, and let the chicken sit for an additional 5 minutes. The temperature will continue to rise as the chicken rests. Double-check one more time that the temperature has risen to 165ºF after it has rested, and remove from the Instant Pot, while you make the pan sauce.
Quick Tip: If for some reason the chicken is below 155ºF once it has finished cooking, you can close the lid and cook the chicken on manual high pressure for 2 more minutes, with a quick release.
For sure its a delicate balance when cooking chicken between making sure its fully cooked, but not overcooked!

Preparing Frozen Chicken For The Instant Pot
The Instant Pot relies on moisture for cooking, so you need to make sure you include some with your chicken. Simply add a cup of liquid to the inner pot before adding your chicken and spices.
To enhance the flavor you are going for, Id recommend cooking it in the juice, says;Trista Best, MPH, RD, LD. For instance, if you want a pineapple chicken, substitute a portion of the water for pineapple juice to allow it to cook into the meat.
If youre just meal prepping plain chicken to add to recipes later, water or chicken broth works perfectly.
Once you have your frozen chicken ready for cooking, simply press the manual or pressure cook button on your Instant Pot and adjust the cooking time as needed.
Check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer, and youre ready to enjoy it!

They were raving about them. ;Still I hesitated. ;I already had a slow cooker that I loved and I had a stove top pressure cooker that I used, but didn’t really love. ;;
I found myself actually looking for Instant Pot recipes and I was hooked. ;The only decision to be made was between the 6 Quart or the 8 Quart. ; Since I am a bigger is always better person, I went with the 8 quart.
Shortly after getting my Instant Pot, I needed to come up with something for dinner. ; I found a recipe for some Peanut Noodles that sounded good, but I wanted to make it more substantial with some cooked chicken meat. ;
