How Long Do You Pressure Cook Frozen

3 Quick & Easy Instant Pot Recipes | Frozen to Dinner in 30 Min!

Know up front that cooking frozen meat IS going to take a bit longer than cooking thawed meat in your Instant Pot.

  • This seems obvious, right?
  • As an example, a thawed roast should be cooked under pressure for 15-20 minutes per lb., while a frozen roast should be cooked under pressure for 22-30 minutes per lb.
  • What Size Instant Pot Is Used For These Freezer Meals

The standard size used for all of these recipes is a 6 quart Instant Pot. All recipes will work in your 8quart as well. If you own a 3 quart you might be able to convert the recipes down by half the size. The only concern would be is if you reduce the liquid too much, it wont come to pressure. So I cant say for certain if you half a recipe it will for sure work in a smaller-sized Instant Pot. More Tips and Tricks for Freezer Friendly meals.

Instant Pot Air Fryer Frozen French Fries

Instant Pot Air Fryer Frozen French Fries. Crispy, golden french fries with my Instant Pot and its Air Fryer Lid.

What took me so long to air fry frozen French fries?

What took me so long to air fry frozen French fries?

I bought the Air Fryer lid for my Instant Pot when it came out, tried it a few times, and it’s been collecting dust ever since. Then I bought my kids Instant Pot Duo Crisps for their college apartments. They immediately started air frying and asked me questions about air frying that I couldn’t answer. So, I gave my air fryer lid a second chance.

And I may have found its killer app. Frozen French fries come out crispy and golden brown, much better than what I get out of the oven, even with the convection setting turned on.

So, I’m going to keep on air fryingif I can come up with anything else. Any air frying veterans out there? What else should I try? Recommendations? Requests?

Is It Expensive To Make Freezer Dump Meals

If you are smart about how you make meals, then no! I tend to pair meals that go together. When you have two recipes that use chicken stock you can split that large container of stock in between the two recipes, instead of buying stock for one recipe. When you strategize what recipes you are cooking at the same time you will find it can be a money saver!

Now if every recipe you make doesnt have similar ingredients, then yes it can be expensive if you buy a lot of ingredients. I always try to think smarter and really come up with recipes that are affordable, tasty, and simple.

    Tips For Freezing Food:

Its important to portion food properly before freezing for the easiest Instant Pot cooking experience. For example, wrap chicken breasts and thighs individually, cut a rack of ribs into 2- to 3-piece sections , and cut big pieces of meat into smaller portions, such as a pork and beef roast for faster and even cooking. If possible, freeze meals in a circular shape thats the same size as the Instant Pot bowl-insert — this lets you go straight from the freezer to the Instant Pot with ease!
