Im talking about those timesheets/magnets/charts with cooktimes ehh. I dont think they are a good resource since every chart Ive seen online doesnt seem accurate to me. Unless the guide comes from a blogger or recipe creator you absolutely trust, I wouldnt spend money on it.
Personally, I would stick with tried and true recipes and methods

Instant Pot Silicone Liner Lid
This silicone cover is essentially like a tupperware lid to the metal Instant Pot liner.
- Pros: Dishwasher safe. Easily stores the pot straight to the fridge!
- Cons: The lid is not a sealing lid, so you wouldnt be able to turn the pot upside down or anything.
- Uses: Easily store leftovers, marinate meats right in the pot for easy and fast cooking like for Kalua Pig, Yogurt, or storing any Instant Pot Soup.
Should I Buy The Ip Air Fryer Lid
In my opinion, the Air Fryer lid is perfect for people who already own a 6 quart Instant Pot with a stainless steel inner pot. Furthermore, you can use it for other stuff such as broiling or dehydrating , which is a very nice addition to any kitchen. Also, when you do fry stuff, you still eat healthier than if you would go to a restaurant or a fast-food chain.

Is An Instant Pot Worth It
Lets do the price breakdown. The most basic version of the Instant Pot starts at around $65, and the price of a manual pressure cooker alone is roughly the same. So for the price of one appliance, youre getting an overachiever that does the work of six.
Not only that, but the Instant Pot is regularly on sale, especially during big shopping days. Chances are at any given moment, youll get a further price reduction on the Instant Pot.
That, combined with the seemingly endless number of foods you can cook, makes the device well worth it in our book.

Thrilled, I ordered it from Amazon. It arrived a few days later in a fairly large box, almost the size of the Instant Pot itself. Indeed, the Air Fryer Lid is not insignificant in size, measuring 13.8 by 13.7 by 12.8 inches. It weighs in at 11.7 pounds, which is not exactly feather-light, but I didnt find it to be too heavy. Bundled with the lid is a fryer basket and a metal insert, which you can use as a broiler tray or as a way to air-fry two tiers of food at once. Theres also an Air Fryer Lid cover, which you can turn upside down to use as a resting spot for your lid when its hot, so you wont damage your countertop.
Interestingly, the instructions note that you should not have the Instant Pot and the Air Fryer Lid plugged in at the same time. In fact, the Air Fryer Lids plug has plastic webbing around it that covers up the other outlet when plugged in. The idea here is that the Air Fryer Lid is pretty powerful, and having a couple of devices plugged in might overwhelm the circuit.
About halfway through, the Air Fryer Lid beeped loudly, with the words Turn Food on its display. I then removed the lid and proceeded to, well, turn the food. From reading other air fryer recipes, this seems to be unique to the Air Fryer Lid. Most other air fryers just recommend you shake the basket around, and even thats up to you theres certainly no flashing reminder of it on the device itself.

You can steam vegetables without using a steamer basket, just by placing the vegetables on the bottom.
I did it a few times as a test, as you can see in my Instant Pot steaming vegetables recipe. Is was a great side dish, however as expected, the results are not the same.
You can also use a homemade improvised steaming basket. Please note that steaming can be a dangerous job because, in an uncontrolled environment, there is the risk of burning your hands and/or face while handling an improvised steamer.
So if you have an Instant Pot and a steamer basket there is no reason for you to do so.

Using Aluminum Foil Balls
Using aluminum foil is an easy way to make steamers for your favorite veggies. All you need is some aluminum foil and about five minutes of preparation time. Start by wrapping one or two scrunched-up balls of aluminum foil at the bottom of your instant pot. Add a cup or two of water, place your favorite vegetables on top, and then secure the lid onto the pot. Cook as you would normally, choosing a cooking time that is appropriate for the kind of vegetable or fruit you are steaming.

The lid fits on top of the Instant Pot, turning it into a mini convection oven that adds roasting, baking, broiling, reheating, and dehydrating functions to the multi-cookers already long list of programs. But while it saves you from buying yet another space-hogging appliance, its not exactly compact: Its 11 inches wide and 7 inches tall. And its not compatible with all Instant Pot models, so be sure to check here before you buy.
The lid comes with an air-fryer basket that you slip into the Instant Pots stainless steel inner pot. The downside is that the 3.5-quart basket is quite small. It may not make sense for large families, but its just right for couples or people cooking for one, or if youre willing to do multiple batches.
Though you need the basket to crisp up fries, you can use the air-fryer lid with just the Instant Pots stainless steel pot to brown and bake. I pressure-cooked a whole chicken in the stainless steel pot and swapped out the lid for the air-fryer lid to crisp up the skin. The result was a tender, juicy chicken with golden-brown skin.

My Honest Advice About Instant Pot Accessories
This might be weird to hear from someone like me, but DONT go out and buy a million accessories for your Instant Pot right away! Especially if youre a beginner, I want you to get your Instant Pot, and USE it first.
I get a lot of messages that sound a lot like this: Hi Lisa! I just got my Instant Pot and have no idea what Im doing with it! What accessories do you recommend I buy?
I always give the same response: none.
Figure out what youre cooking and how youre cooking! A bunch of accessories arent useful to you if you have no idea how youre using your Instant Pot.
Get that pot out of the box, and use it! Youll quickly find out what accessories you need.
If youre finding yourself making a lot of vegetables or confident enough to make a cheesecake, youll figure out that your cooking process could be a lot easier with a steamer basket or a specific cheesecake pan.
I improvised with what I had for a year, and I did just fine! I dont want anyone wasting their hard earned money on stuff they dont need! A huge pet peeve of mine is to waste money by buying without a clear purpose in mind.

This is another product that comes straight from the manufacturers of the Instant Pot. This springform pan was made to fit in the Instant Pot, so you can use it to make anything from lasagna to cake. Best Air Fryer Lid: Sous Vide Art Air Fryer Lid
Pros: It effortlessly attaches to your six- or eight-quart Instant Pot and includes some useful accessories.
Cons: It doesn’t have an alarm to notify you when it’s done, so you’ll have to keep an eye on it.
If you already have an Instant Pot, there’s no need to buy a separate air fryer. This attachment replaces the Instant Pot’s lid and works by circulating hot air for even, consistent cooking, allowing it to air fry, bake, and broil various types of foods with seven different presets. Instant Pot Steam Vs Pressure
You may be wondering what is the difference between steam and pressure cook on Instant Pot? Or how do I use the Steam function, and does it still cook under pressure?
So firstly, the Instant Pot steams under pressure, so it is a different process from steaming on your stovetop, and much faster.
The Steam function on the Instant Pot is a preset for high pressure for ten minutes. The time can be adjusted up to 15 minutes by selecting More, or down to 3 minutes by setting it to Less. It can also be adjusted by using the -/+ buttons for finer control.
You will see from the steaming times charts below that very few foods have steaming times that align with the presets under the Steam setting, so generally it is just as easy to use the Manual/Pressure cook function and set the time manually.
