THE BEST Instant Pot LENTIL Soup Recipe | NO Sauteing

Here it is, people. After years of getting over our Instant Pot fear, we are officially superfans of the Instant Pot! If youve never heard of an Instant Pot, it is a new age pressure cooker.

It is your all-in-one appliance that can saute, slow cook, quick cook, and everything in between.

When I say we had an Instant Pot fear in the beginning, its because if youre not used to hot steam pouring out of one of your appliances, then it may take some time to get used to it.

Lees Aunt Lisa was the catalyst in Team Fit Foodie getting comfortable with the Instant Pot. We headed down to Illinois for a peach harvest where Aunt Lisa taught us how to can peach with the Instant Pot.

She made it look so easy. She went over all the reasons she had an Instant Pot, so I thought wed share why YOU need an Instant Pot.

What Should You Not Cook In An Instant Pot

Even though theres an abundance of things that you can make with an Instant Pot, there are also a handful of ingredients that cant handle the pressure very welllike pasta, dairy, and crispy foods.Delicate pasta can easily overcook and disintegrate dairy products can curdle or separate and crispy things can get soggy. Often, you can avoid the issue by waiting to add certain ingredients until all the other parts have cooked. For instance, you can finish off a soup with a generous dose of cream, or use the sauté function to crisp bacon, then set it aside, and finally add it back to your dish at the end.

Meanwhile, youll want to be careful when cooking more delicate proteins or veggies so that you dont turn them into totally overcooked mush. You can generally achieve that by following the recipe instructions regarding the timing and settings.

Finally, some dishes are just not Instant Potfriendlyanything that requires some serious searing or crisping is probably best made using another method.

What Is Whole30

As a nutritionist, I love to recommend a Whole30 diet for a month to get my clients back on track. So what is Whole30 exactly? At the core, Whole30 is an elimination diet that takes out foods or groups of food that are common causes of inflammation: sugar, grains, dairy, soy, legumes, and alcohol. Its a fantastic way to reset the body, and learn what foods are beneficial to your particular body, and which ones are harmful. After a full 30 days, you slowly start to implement the restricted foods to see if they can be tolerated.

I love the Whole30 program because it also makes one go back to enjoying REAL FOOD! Were not worried about counting macros , instead the focus is on eating meals that are flavorful and use only real ingredients. People often notice an energy boost, better sleep, and more mental clarity as just a few of the noticeable changes!

How To Make It

  • First, you have to combine some lemon slices, sugar, and paste of garlic in a medium bowl. Set your oven to 250 degrees. It just takes a couple of mins to marinate the lemon slices with sugar and the paste of garlic.
  • Strew 3-8 spoons of salt and pepper on chicken. Sprinkle chicken with 3/8 teaspoon salt and pepper. Take a pan and add 2 spoons of oil in it and wait for 2 sec. Now add the chicken to the pan and wait until it turns out to be a crispy brow. Now take out the chicken from the pan and place that chicken on the plate. Add 2 spoons of oil again in the pan and add the lemon mixture in that oil cook for almost 2 mins till lemons turned turns out to be light brown.
  • Now clean the pan with the tissue. Again-heat the pan with low medium heat. Put 1-2 spoons od butter in the pan wait until the butter melts. Add shallot, 1/2 spoons of garlic paste, sprig, and thyme sprig in the pan and cook for almost 1 minute. Add remaining 1/8 teaspoon salt, stock, and flour to pan, stir it. Bring to a boil reduce the heat and simmer 3 minutes or until liquid is reduced to about 2/3 cup. After doing all that remove the pan from heat. Remove oregano and thyme sprigs. Stir in remaining 1 1/2 tablespoons butter and capers, stirring until butter melts. Return chicken and any juices to pan turn to coat with sauce. Top the chicken with the juicy lemon mixture. strew with parsley.
